The Shop:

 

Mikey

The narrator.  Confident only about himself, all else is uncertain and untrustworthy.  Lost everything in a series of increasingly horrific accidents, culminating in the death of his parents in a plane crash over the Atlantic.  Thus began a downward spiral of destructive tendencies.  Once his remaining friends had given up on him, his girlfriend chose to kick him out.  That was the day he began working at the Shop.

Aine

Pronounced Anya.  A black-Irish gothic lolita.  She fashions herself after a living dead doll, Mikey jokes, but the truth is almost everything she wears is embroidered with black lace or has a structural architecture to it.  Her eyes change color with every new pair of contacts, which as it turns out are 'just for looks'.  She's a contradiction of extremities, as contrived as her identity is, so unique is her execution.  She's an information sponge, taking it all in an rarely letting any out.

Pendragon

An old fogey from Ireland, and owner of The Shop.  When and where he began his collection is anyone's guess as his habit of never asking questions is usually met in kind.  Every statement, all his actions are calculatedly cruel, and by cruel it is to say there is a specific lack of emotional consideration in anything he does.  His hair is peppered with salt, and his messy beard falls awkwardly onto the lapel of his old-fashioned suits.
